The Division of Alcohol and Tobacco Control's enforcement section consists of three districts. The enforcement section is staffed with offices in Kansas City, St. Louis, and Jefferson City - Central District. Special agents and agents are assigned territories within those districts. All enforcement section personnel are required to fulfill the law enforcement training requirements established for peace officers by the Peace Officer Standards and Training Commission.

The enforcement section fulfills its responsibilities of enforcing the alcohol and tobacco control laws by conducting routine inspections and investigations; responding to citizen complaints; taking applications for over 25,000 new or renewal licenses annually; working in a cooperative and coordinating effort with local law enforcement and providing information to licensees concerning liquor control laws and regulations.
